
L - Lewis Carroll
Recognised worldwide for his nonsensical literature series of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll was born and spent his childhood in Halton. From a young age he wrote poetry, short stories and heavily contributed to the family magazine Mischmasch. Undoubtedly, when writing his Alice books Carroll's his curiosity of Daresbury's countryside is through to have inspired the mischievous Cheshire Cat. Exhibitions of his work can be seen at The Lewis Carroll Centre.
