Did you know that one of the greatest authors of all time was born and grew up right here in Halton?
Located in the beautiful village of Daresbury, the Lewis Carroll Centre celebrates the life of Charles Lutwidge Dodson, better known as Lewis Carroll, through fascinating displays, original illustrations and stories behind Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
Housed within the charming All Saints Church, the exhibition offers a peaceful, atmospheric experience enriched by stained-glass windows and historic details. It’s a wonderful place for families to explore, learn and be inspired during half-term.

Get a Big Reaction at The Catalyst
This half-term, get a big reaction with experiences packed with interaction at The Catalyst Science Discovery Centre, the UK’s only chemical industry museum. One of Halton’s most treasured heritage attractions has a mysterious twist this half-term. At Norton Priory, the Phantoms of the Past have appeared as part of an exciting new art installation.
As you explore Europe’s most excavated monastic site, encounter characters from the 900-year history, brought to life through visual art. During half-term, children and adults can get hands-on with free drop-in creative crafts workshops, from designing shadow puppets to making photographic artwork that lets them bring the Phantoms back to life.
